Soft City - Such a Nice Guy

Finally, Soft City is back! Their solid second album offers great tunes played by great musicians giving us delightful soul!
The singles “No Longer” and “Brother” have already garnered much attention, and now the album is finally here. With playful and expert musical harmony this Oslo-based band comes across as more robust than ever. Here they offer good old-fashioned blues and soul laced with funky elements recalling the 1960s and the heyday of soul. The album also has unmistakable elements and references to the wide contemporary musical universe.
The Soft City members were drawn to each other by their shared fascination with the blues and soul genre, and since the band’s beginning in 2018 they have performed in several national festivals and clubs, such as Moldejazz, Notodden Bluesfestival and Klubbøya. They are booked solid for the autumn, visiting several cities in Norway and touring for a week in Spain. They have earlier toured in the US with ten concerts in Mississippi and Tennessee during the International Blues Challenge. Their first album was released by KKV in 2022, then with their main source of inspiration, Knut Reiersrud, featured as a guest musician.
This is top shelf! Soft City truly stands out with their originality and their musical talent in the crowd of young musicians and bands currently vying for attention on the musical scene in Norway.
The band’s sound is urban and modern, but with unmistakeable inspiration from the blues. Striking riffs, evocative rhythms, soulful melody lines and virtuoso solos lift Soft City’s refreshing soul to new heights.
